Meeting:	North Star SHRM Board Meeting
Date:	December 10, 2008 12:00 p.m.

Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at the Board meeting:

The meeting was held at Russell's on the Lake and was opened by President Bruce Tyler who thanked attendees.

The following agenda items were discussed in the business portion of meeting:

• Bruce advised that volunteers were needed to serve in the following positions for 2009: (1) Workforce Readiness Advocate. This individual would work with St. Cloud State for students in the HR field. Sandy Fouquette added that this individual could also work on the H.R. Games. (2) A Diversity Advocate. Interested individuals should contact Sandy or Bruce.
  
  
• Bruce informed us that our chapter had a 48% increase in growth in 2008 and that we are now the 5th largest chapter in Minnesota.
  
  
• Bruce read the 2009 list of nominated board members and asked if there were any additional nominations. None made. Chapter President . Sandy Fouquette, President-Elect . Renae Hauge, Secretary/Treasurer . Kim Savaria, Membership Director . Rhonda Madsen, Legislative Director . Janet Ampe, Foundation Director . Jan Trushenski, Past President . Bruce Tyler, Communications Director . Gail Landowski. A vote of members present was held and all unanimously elected.
  
  
• Treasurer's Report advised a current checking balance as of 11/30/08 of $5,764.24.
  
  
• The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 14th beginning at 8:00 a.m. at First National Financial Services in Elk River. Their address is 812 Main Street.
  
  
• Bruce advised that a Board meeting would be conducted following adjournment and invited anyone interested in attending.
  
  
• Drawings were held. Grand prize - 1 year paid National SHRM membership, won by Jan Trushenski.
