Meeting:	North Star SHRM Board Meeting
Date:	January 14, 2009 8:00 a.m.

Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at the Board meeting:

Meeting was opened by President Sandy Fouquette with a thank you to First National Financial Services in Elk River for use of their facilities and hosting today's meeting. Bruce Tyler introduced today's guest speaker: John Regan IV, with IV Communications, who presented "Generations: We Are Not All The Same". One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification credit will be available for those individuals attending.

The following agenda items were discussed in the business portion of meeting:

• A motion was made and passed to accept the December meeting minutes.
• Bruce reported that the Chapter's web page has an updated training schedule posted.
• Discussion was held regarding the Chapter's CAP Report. Sandy advised that it was available on the SHRM site and encouraged members to review it and see if there were any areas in which companies were involved.
• Discussion was held regarding the Becker Business Expo coming up on January 24th from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Becker Field House. Our chapter will have a booth and if any members can help man, please contact either Sandy or Bruce who will also be there.
• Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 to be held at Connections in Big Lake at 8:00 am. Our speaker will be Tammy Friederichs, with Friederichs & Thompson, P.A., presenting on Independent Contractor, Status, Trends and Pitfalls.
