Meeting:	North Star SHRM Board Meeting

Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at the Board meeting:

The meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler with group introductions. The following items were discussed:

• An extensive discussion was held on the 2008 CAPS report. It was noted that our chapter was one of 13 of the 15 SHRM chapters in Minnesota who received a Superior Merit award from 2007. We had 24 points from section 3 last year, which consists of 7 subjects. No requirements existed last year for any of the 7 subjects. The requirements were changed this year to require at least 3 items checked in each of the seven subject areas of section 3. The Board discussed each of the seven subjects to determine if the Chapter has met the goal or made plans to meet the goal. The Board was successful and North Star SHRM should receive another Superior Merit award for 2008.
  
  
• Board positions were discussed. It was decided to add the following positions to the Board for 2009:

  Diversity Director
  Governmental Affairs Director (this position is held by Janet Ampe, but called Legislative Director) HRCI Director

It was noted that a President-Elect must be named for 2009.
