Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at our last Chapter
meeting:
- Meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler introducing today's
guest speaker as follows: Jeff Johnson presented The Most Difficult
ADA/FMLA Issues. One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification credit will be
applied for those individuals attending.
- The following agenda items were discussed in the business
portion of meeting:
- May minutes were approved with a change of Josh Johnson to Jeff
Johnson.
- Approved Business Liability insurance of one million dollars to
American Family Insurance, Kathy Blake Agency, 9201 Quaday Ave. NE, Suite
203, Otsego, MN 55330, Phone 763-241-9229 at an annual premium of
$212.00.
- State Speaker's bureau, approved to go ahead and set it up with
help from National and State Council.
- Discussed SHRM certification. Members can apply for a $750
scholarship for class prep and test costs. Also discussed our chapter
giving a scholarship to a member if their company does not allow for
reimbursement. This was approved by members.
- Discussion on the Chapter Bylaws was held. The Bylaws on the web
site are the wrong ones. New and revised bylaws were approved and signed
by National late last year. Bruce will get Gail to put on the web
site.
- Approved a donation of $255.00 to the SHRM Foundation. We will
need to send a check.
- Our Chapter did not receive any points on the CAPS report last
year for not having an ethics policy. The new bylaws say we will use the
National ethics policy and this was approved. The ethic policy needs to
get onto the web site. Additionally, the new bylaws and ethics policy
need to be sent to all members.
- There will not be a meeting in July. Bruce reminded everyone of
the programs for August and September. The October meeting is the State
Conference, so no chapter meeting will be held.
- The following Chapter Officer positions are open: President
Elect, Foundation Director, Legal Updates, Membership Director,
Professional Development Program Director, and School-to-Work Director.

- Legislative Update - No updates at this time.
