MEETING MINUTES

Meeting:	North Star SHRM Chapter Meeting
Date:	March 14, 2007 8:00 a.m.

Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at our last Chapter meeting:

• Meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler introducing today's guest speaker as follows: Sheila Dokken, P.A. who provided training on Conflict Management/Dispute Resolution. One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification credit will be applied for those individuals attending.
  
  
• Business portion of meeting began at 9:30 a.m. The following agenda items were discussed:
  
  
  1. April meeting will feature guest speaker Patrick Burns. He will present training on ADR. A location will need to be found for this meeting. Notice will be provided to members prior to meeting date. One hour of recertification credit will be available.
     
     
  2. The guest speaker for the May meeting will be Dave Hulberg from Maximize Human Potential speaking on Pre/Post Employment Testing.
     
     
  3. North Star SHRM Web Site has been updated.
     
     
  4. The following Chapter Officer positions are open: President Elect, Foundation Director, Legal Updates, Membership Director, Professional Development Program Director, and School-to-Work Director. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions about any of the open positions, please email Bruce at: bcntyler@sherbtel.net.
     
     
  5. Discussion was held on a work comp issue brought up by Deanna Anderson.
     
     
  6. North Star SHRM roster will be sent to members.
     
     
• Legislative Update - No updates at this time.

NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting will be held on April 11, 2007, 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at Great River Energy, Elk River. The topic will be Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Patrick Burns will be the presenter. Please note that the April meeting will be held at Great River Energy, Elk River.
