Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at our last Chapter
meeting:
- Meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler with group introductions. Our guest speaker today
was: Nicole B. Surges, Attorney presenting "Current Issues in Minnesota Workers Compensation
Claims". One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification credit will be available for those individuals
attending.
- The following agenda items were discussed in the business
portion of meeting:
- A motion was made and passed to accept the April meeting minutes.
- Treasurer reported a balance as of 4/30/08 of $6,204.63.
- Bruce reported that our chapter had received the 2007 SHRM Superior Merit Award for meeting
certain set chapter requirements.
- Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 to be held at Connections in Big
Lake at 8:00 am. Our speaker will be Dr. Steven Manderscheid, with Concordia University
presenting "ODR for Professionals" Bruce is apply for Strategic credit for SPHR recertification.
- No meeting will be held in July.
- Janet Ampe is working to find a speaker on contract employees for the August meeting.
- The September meeting will be a joint meeting with the St. Cloud chapter with a national
speaker presenting on "Ten HR Challenges that should keep you up at night". No additional items
presented for discussions.
- Legislative Update
Janet Ampe advised no new current issues.
