North Star SHRM Chapter Meeting

Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at our last Chapter
meeting:
- Meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler introducing today's
guest speaker as follows:
Dave Hulbert with Maximize Human Potential presenting Sorting
Through the Assessment Maze. One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification
credit will be applied for those individuals attending.
- The following agenda items were discussed in the business
portion of meeting:
- June meeting will feature guest speaker Josh Johnson who will
present training on The Most Difficult ADA/FMLA cases. The meeting will
be held at Connections in Big Lake beginning at 8:00 A.M.
- Bruce encouraged attendees to be sure they have designated the
North Star SHRM chapter as their local chapter through National
SHRM.
- Bruce will be attending the Minnesota State SHRM meeting on May
20-21st.
- April minutes were approved.
- North Star SHRM website is up-to-date. Bruce advised that there
is no P.O. Box mailing address for the chapter.
- No meeting will be held in July.
- Questions and discussion were held regarding required training on
sexual harassment and the process of obtaining personal data after an
offer is made.
- The following Chapter Officer positions are open: President
Elect, Foundation Director, Legal Updates, Membership Director,
Professional Development Program Director, and School-to-Work Director.

- Legislative Update - No updates at this time.
