Listed below is a recap of the items discussed at our last Chapter
meeting:
- Meeting was opened by President Bruce Tyler introducing today's guest speaker as follows:
Bruce Miles, with Big River Consulting Group, LLC who presented training on Strategic Planning call
Chainsaw Planning. One hour of PHR/SPHR recertification credit will be available for those
individuals attending.
- The following agenda items were discussed in the business
portion of meeting:
- A motion was made and passed to accept the September meeting minutes.
- The Treasurer's Report advised a current checking balance as of 10/31/07 of $6,853.00.
- Our December meeting will be a social luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, December 12th at 12:00
noon at Russell's on the Lake located at 111 Jefferson Blvd., Highway 10, Big Lake, MN 763-263-
6111. An email reminder will be sent out to members.
- Elections for 2008 will be held at our December meeting. The following Chapter Officer
positions
are open: President Elect, Foundation Director, Legal Updates, Membership Director, Professional
Development Program Director, and School-to-Work Director. Bruce Tyler has agreed to stay on
as President for another year, and Kim Savaria has agreed to remain as Secretary/Treasurer. If you
are interested in volunteering or have any questions about any of the open positions, please email
Bruce at: bcntyler@sherbtel.net.
Discussion was held regarding explanation of the Foundation Coordinator Position and the
Membership Director position.
- Bruce advised that the North Star SHRM chapter had the largest increase in members for 2007.
We
went from 22 members to 27 members.
- The January meeting will feature Pamela Muldune to present on Executive Business Coaching.
- Bruce advised that he is leaving today to attend the SHRM Leadership Conference in Washington,
D.C.
- Legislative Update - No updates at this time.
